The recovery mode options allow the user to select the type of recovery to be performed

If the disk is probably sound, then the Full recovery mode will attempt to produce a good directory structure

The recover from directory stubs will cope with disks where the directory structure is badly corrupted or completely missing.  Although file names will be recovered, it may not be possible to recreate the complete directory structure.  Often, dummy directory entries will be created.

The final option of scanning for deleted files may be selected if recovery of deleted files is required.
